First-time entering students (with an NQF Level 4 in Mathematics and some background in Physical Sciences) need to further improve their reading and writing in the academic, business, and standard English language, their computational skills mathematical skills, and statistical skills, with a basic introduction to scientific field knowledge in higher education. Completing students will be able to register for higher qualifications within South Africa and throughout the world. Qualifying students will be employable in laboratories in institutions of higher learning as well as in industry as support staff to specialists in the field The Higher Certificate will give the qualifying learners a basic knowledge of the physical sciences as well as practical skills in laboratories equipping them to operate as entry-level future laboratory assistants in the academic, government or industry sectors.
This qualification will be presented using both online and distance learning modes. |
