Dolphins book spot in T20 Challenge final

The KZN Dolphins claimed a five-wicket victory over the EP Warriors in the T20 Challenge semi-final at Kingsmead on Thursday.

The Dolphins will face the Central Gauteng Lions in the final at the Wanderers on Sunday (2pm).

On Thursday, the Warriors posted 161-4 after being put into bat, with Andile Mogakane scoring 77 off 45 balls (four fours, four sixes).

Mogakane had a 78-run partnership with captain Matthew Breetzke (38 off 35 balls) and put on 53 with Jordan Hermann (20* off 17).

In reply, the Dolphins’ Khaya Zondo (49 off 23 balls; five fours, three sixes) took charge during the powerplay, forging a 64-run opening stand with Grant Roelofsen (16 off 12).

Jon Jon Smuts (34 off 26) and Jason Smith (30* off 18) then ensured the Dolphins reached the target with two overs to spare.
